The Swiss luxury watchmaker Tag Heuer announced on Tuesday (13). A Super Mario-themed smartwatch, produced in partnership with Nintendo. The limited-edition Tag Heuer Connected model with Wear OS will cost US$ 2,100 and will be sold starting July 15 at the brand’s online and physical boutiques or authorized resellers.
The Tag Heuer Connected limited edition Super Mario watch will have the same internal functions as the traditional model, but with external details unique to the plumber’s model. On the bezel, the watch has the Super Mushroom, Pipe, and Super Star symbols in place of the numbers 15, 30, and 45 respectively. The crown and buckle are printed with the traditional “M” of the character.
The accessory will also include two bracelets, a sports bracelet in red rubber and a casual one in black leather. In the accessory’s app, Tag Heuer will release Mario-themed dials, with more discreet options and more detailed ones. For example, one of the screens will have the 3D model of the plumber above the time and date indicator, while another will show only the time on an animated background with elements of the franchise.
According to the manufacturer, Mario’s Tag Heuer Connected will have a 430 mAh battery, with autonomy for up to 20 hours of use. It will be equipped with Wear OS, from Google, and will feature features GPS, compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, and heartbeat sensor.
