Lack of essential details at a meeting with Microsoft teams soon could be part of the past with a new platform addition. For the first time, the videoconferencing service would automatically record all Microsoft Teams meetings at the start of a call, a function that had previously been lacking.

This feature, expected to roll out soon on Windows and macOS platforms, will enable teams to meet rivals like Zoom, who have always offered the auto-recording feature.

The new function is apparently in operation for some time, with Microsoft confirming the news in response to a question posed by the UserVoice forum of the company, noting that it’s “currently working with this request” and that it “shares an update.

At the beginning of the call, the participants will see a warning display that the meeting is recorded and the capture can be downloaded and played back after the call is finished.

Microsoft hasn’t confirmed the new feature release, but at the beginning of each month, it has the habit of launching additional team additions.

A report on Microsoft Teams

The news comes after Microsoft has shown a number of new teams to help people track what has been said during a meeting. These include live transcripts for meetings of teams that enable participants to follow conversations with videos or audio in real-time and examine them.

In addition, Microsoft teams will now provide a summary of all the events during the meeting, which will enable those who missed or wanted to catch up on a particular point. A report with a recording of the meeting, a transcript, a chat message, and all attachments are shared with the participants on the Chat tab and can be viewed on the Details tab.
